Welcome to the multimedia center on plcplace. While we have made sermon videos avalaible on the website for a number of years, our hope is for the website to take a much larger role in distributing content. It is simply the fastest, most cost effective way of reaching as many people as possible. To your right, you'll find links to our video contnent pages. Below, some answers to frequently asked questions about video content on plcplace.
FAQ's about PLC Multimedia:
I heard there was a video clip included with last weeks service, but I didn't see it in the clip where did it go?
Most of the externally produced video content is limited to worship use only, and so we must edit it out of our videos. We can, and will include most in-house produced videos whenever possible.
Will guest speakers (other than sermons) be featured online?
There are a number of factors that determine whether a given speaker will be featured on the website, including our ability to receive permission to do so, and avaliabilty of personnel to record and edit the video. Occasionally, an event video will result in files large enough to negatively impact bandwidth over the entire site as visitors download them. We are working (within budget constraints) to maximize our capacity.
Are sermon videos available in another format , such as DVD or VHS tape? How about audio CD's?
Typically, no. As noted above, we feel that moving to a web based delivery system is the best stewardship of limited resources. If you have circumstance that you feel requires special consideration, please contact Dave Langer, Technical Arts Director for assistance.
I am unable to view the sermon video.
Sermon videos (and most others) are presented in an embedded Flash video player. The latest version of the Flash video player is available here. Users of Android, Windows Mobile, and Blackberry smart phones with full browser capabilty should be able to view videos provided Flash Lite is installed. Users of certain other brands of smart phones and tablets may find that they are unable to view videos as a result of the manufacturers refusal to support the Flash platform and free video content, in favor of their own restrictive and proprietary platforms.
