FAQ's about PLCTV

You just have the sermons on the web - why not the whole service?

The primary reason involves licensing and copyright restrictions.   Many of the songs we sing in worship are copyrighted and require us to have a license or rights to perform.  Usually those rights are strictly limited to a worship setting, and broadcasting on the web is not allowed.

I heard there was a video clip included with last weeks service, but I didn't see it in the clip where did it go?

Much like the songs we use, most of the externally produced video content is limited to worship use only, and so we must edit it out of our videos.  We can, and will include most in-house produced videos whenever possible.

Will guest speakers (other than sermons)  be featured online?

Occasionally yes, depending on the license and copyright considerations mentioned above.

Are sermon videos available in another format , such as DVD or VHS tape?  How about audio CD's?

VHS copies of services are available through the Care Team for members who are unable to attend for health reasons and lack Internet access.  Please contact the church office for details.

I am unable to open the sermon video and/or sermon notes page.

The sermon notes are currently designed to open in "pop-up" windows, so you must enable your browser to accept pop-ups from our web site.  They are presented in Acrobat format.  Sermon Videos are presented in Adobe Flash video format and require either Flash PLayer (minimum) or Adobe Media Player (recommended. If you lack the required application, you may use the following link to download:

FAQ's about Worship at PLC

What options are available for my kids during worship services?

We welcome everybody – of all ages – to our worship services. Please know that we have an informal and casual worship atmosphere. We also offer the following options to parents with young children:
Our Kid Zone (located in the Education Building across the breezeway from the Sanctuary) is staffed from 8:00 a.m. to Noon to lovingly care for infants (3 months and older) to children 7 years of age. If a serious need arises, parents can be alerted via a message on our sanctuary’s media screens.
Our Fireside Room (located just outside the Sanctuary doors) has a TV monitor where you can watch the service while attending to your child’s needs.
Activity bags are available (hanging on the green cart by the Sanctuary entrance) with crayons and books for your children to use during the service.
Kids’ bulletins are located on the table in the entry way.  Look for pink for K-3rd grade, and yellow for 4th – 6th grade.

What is a Bible -Toting Lutheran ?

We believe in the power and primacy of God’s Word in our lives.  Since very few of us have the bible memorized, as members of PLC, we endeavor to bring our bibles with us every time we come on the church campus!  Don’t be surprised if during the worship service, the pastor asks the congregation to “raise their bibles proudly in the air” as a reminder!

Why are there media screens hanging in the sanctuary ?

We utilize available technology to create an engaging and edifying worship experience.  The use of screens allows us to project lyrics to a wide variety of songs, as well as slides, video clips and original movies illustrating sermon points.  You will also see ministry announcement slides scrolling through on screen before the worship service begins.

May I participate in Communion?

PLC celebrates Holy Communion at every Sunday worship service.  We invite all who worship with us to receive the sacrament, or if they wish, to receive a blessing.  The pastor will explain this, and also explain how communion is distributed, before it begins.

How do I find PLC?

As with most everything in Gig Harbor, our church campus is tucked behind some trees!  Just turn in to our parking lot by our church sign.  Extra parking is available if you drive around to the back of the biggest building (the Sanctuary Building).  “Last resort” parking on Easter mornings is available across from PLC by the TCC soccer field!  Click here for a map to Peninsula Lutheran Church.

What else is happening at PLC on Sunday mornings?

Between worship services, we serve brunch in our Fellowship Hall.  We also offer Christian education for all ages. Check out our calendar page for details.
