What We Believe
In the spring of 2009, Pastor Paul, Pastor Art, and the Leadership Team of PLC recognized the need to examine and validate our vision and mission for our congregation in service to our Lord, our community, and our world.
The first step in that process is to clearly define what it is we believe as an evangelical lutheran congregation. That clarity is the bedrock upon which we can build our vision and find our mission.
To that end, a team was commissioned to study, discuss, and pray that they ultimately might craft a Statement of Belief. On these pages you will find the fruits of their efforts. The statement is built around seven tenets or Articles of Faith. They are:
Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior
The Gospel of Salvation
The Authority of Scripture
The Common Confession of Faith
The Priesthood of All Believers
Marriage and Family
The Mission and Ministry of the Congregation
To the left of the page, you'll find links to each of those seven articles, which in turn link to supporting scripture verses. The final link is to a 50 page study packet, containing all of those materials, for use in group or individual study.
